POST GRADUATE

The Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences was granted permission to start PG courses (MD/MS/Diploma) by the Government of India / Medical Council of India in the year 2001. Five batches of MD/MS/Diploma have passed out till date. The courses commence from 2nd May every year. The details of the post graduate courses are as follows:-

MD/MS Programs

(Note: If a candidate has already passed Diploma in the respective branch, then the duration of the course will be 2 years instead of 3 years.)

Admission Procedure

Every year in the month of November/December the University invites applications for admission from eligible candidates. An All-India competitive examination is conducted in the month of Jan/Feb. The admissions are based on merit.

Tuition Fee

The Tuition fee for MD/MS/Diploma courses will be:

1. For Anatomy, Physiology, and Community Medicine - Rs.6,00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.

2. For Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology & Biochemistry - Rs.7,00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.

3. For remaining subjects - Rs.8,00,000/- per annum with a progressive increase of 10% every year.

The fee does not include hostel and mess charges and the same will be charged separately. Hostel charges for PG hostel is Rs. 60,000/- per annum and that of UG Hostel is Rs.42,000/- per annum.

In case candidate is not able to complete the course in stipulated period of time extra fees shall be charged.
