Classrooms:
The
University has five lecture theatres Gallery type. The
capacity of these lecture halls are 200 and 250 students.
Besides these lecture halls every department has Class
Rooms, Tutorial rooms, Seminar Rooms for teaching and
training purposes. The University has total forty two
class rooms. Since every department has individual class
rooms there is no requirement of any shift. The University
does not run any Distance Learning Programme.
Auditorium:
The University has its own auditorium for conducting Workshops,
Seminars, Cultural events, Annual function, Counseling
and various examinations etc. In the last two years the
auditorium of the University is used for various cultural
events
Laboratory:
The University has total Thirty Five laboratories. These
thirty five laboratories of the University are equipped
with high value equipments. These equipments are used
by the students and the faculties.
Conference
Hall :
University is
also having a conference hall equipped with the recording
system and LCD screens. It can hold 40to 50 people at
a time.
Auditorium: For the cultural programme the University
has big auditorium inside the campus.
Hostel:
For under graduate students the University has separate
hostels for boys and girls.
Boys Hostel: The boys' hostel has 360 rooms spread
in three blocks and ratio of residential students to number
of rooms is 1:1.
Girls Hostel:
The Girls hostel has 240 rooms spread in two blocks and
the ratio of residential students to number of rooms is
1:1.
For the Post graduate
students the University has 84 studio apartments.
Playground:
The university
has very big playground for the students. The University
held sports meet during their annual fest "Himutsav"
which lasts for 15days.
Campus:
The
University is spread over approximately 200 acres of land.
The quiet, serene atmosphere, the pollution-free environment,
the greenery and beauty of the surrounding Shivalik foothills
of the Himalayas impress visitors coming to the campus.
This is a community in which the families of faculty and
staff-physicians, administrators, nursing staff, and other
support staff, along with the medical and nursing students,
all live and work together to create a very unique campus.
The completion of every major new development at HIHT
is celebrated with much pomp and festivity and inaugurated
by special government officials.
The
campus provides housing for nearly one thousand students,
faculty and staff. New residences and hostels are being
continuously constructed to accommodate the ever increasing
population of our community. Relatives of patients can
stay in a comfortable forty-room residence, Nanak Sarai,
adjacent to the hospital.
Daily
transport to and from Rishikesh and Dehradun is provided
for staff members residing off-campus. Civil amenities
include banking services with ATM facility, a daily needs
shop, and utility centre with photocopying, fax, computer
and email facilities, along with medical books and supplies
for the students.
The
Royal Mess located in the hospital serves the students,
staff, patients and visitors with tasty and nutritious
food.
Children
are ever present and need never be lonely, enjoying the
company of the many children of the residential families.
The protected environment and the vast open spaces make
it an ideal environment for raising children. A large
park and playground has been developed for the campus
children.
An
English-medium preschool, "Vidya School", run
by the Rural Development Institute, helps prepare the
youngest members of our community to begin their educational
journey. Plans are underway for construction of a large
International School on the campus. Until then, the elementary
and secondary school children are provided with bus facility
to Dehradun where many excellent schools are located.
Guest
House
To
facilitate a comfortable stay for the visitors, the University
has a guesthouse. A well-furnished lounge for visitors
with cable Television facility is provided. The kitchen
of the Guesthouse serves visitors with delicious "home
cooked" type food at affordable rates in the comfortable
Dining Hall.
Library
A
well equipped Central library with about 11,000 books
of different specialties, 72 Foreign Journals and 70 Indian
Journals of different specialties is available for faculty,
staff and students.
Facilities such as access to Internet resources, online
journals, and e-learning are some of the special features.
There are separate group study and private study areas
in the library. A large collection of reading materials
such as books, periodicals back volumes, project/thesis,
reports, and seminar/Conference proceedings etc. are available.
Shopping
A
daily needs shop is available within the campus for necessary
items. The canteen offers a range of snacks, beverages,
small gifts and other consumables.
Bank
A
nationalized bank (SBI) runs its branch at the premises
making it convenient for students and staff to transact
business in the campus itself. It also has facility of
ATM within the campus premises.
Transportation
The
institute runs a fleet of buses for the transportation
of students. Besides, there are two vans and several cars.
A number of buses and trains ply to points very near the
campuses. Air travel is also easily accessible as the
airport is adjacent to the Institute.
Kindergarden
An
